One of the ways we strive to show the love of God to others is through service and missions. We have a variety of mission opportunities for those who are interested in giving through service, including local opportunities and international mission trips. We invite everyone who is able to participate through giving of their time, talents, gifts, and service.
We regularly volunteer at St. Mark’s UMC in the French Quarter to provide meals and other supplies to individuals experiencing homelessness. Church members provide Easter gift baskets to children in our community who are in foster care through CASA. Church members donated food for Thanksgiving meals that we provided to students and their families at Luling Elementary School. Volunteers from NLCC collect Christmas gifts for children in Dulac, LA and deliver them to the UMC preschool each year. We provided and served breakfast to the faculty and staff at R. K. Smith Middle School this year. Our sewing ministry provides an opportunity for individuals to come together and create sewing projects for various community organizations. All skill levels are welcome! Our congregation collected belts and backpacks for the local middle school to help meet the needs of their students as they begin a new school year. Our mission team has served at El Ayudante in Leon, Nicaragua to assist communities with water purification, food distribution, home construction, bible school, tutoring, and sewing.
