Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) kicked off today and it was a wonderful evening filled with music, worship, crafts, games, snacks, and LOTS of fun, all while discovering that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise!
During VBC this week, we will collect an offering each evening for the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home. As always, we will have a little friendly competition between the boys and the girls to see who can raise more money for the Children’s Home. All monetary donations received will benefit the children at our Methodist Children’s Home of Greater New Orleans in Mandeville. Presently, there are 18 boys residing at the Home, ranging in ages from 7 – 12 years old. They have been abused and neglected, have experienced significant trauma, and are not able to live with their families at this time. The organization also provides complete residential treatment for children at Homes in Ruston and in Sulphur.
In addition, we are also collecting personal care items to donate to the Children’s Home. We’re collecting:
- Hand soap
- Body wash
We invite you to participate in this outreach by sending in personal care items with your child during VBC – we will have a collection area at the back of the church. Thanks in advance for your support!
